North Carolina State Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board (NCHADFB) General Statute 93-D Practice Exam

To operate as a hearing aid fitter in North Carolina, a crucial requirement is holding both a business license and a hearing aid license. This dual requirement ensures that the practitioner is legally recognized to conduct business while also meeting specific professional standards in the field of hearing aid fitting. The business license addresses general business practices, ensuring that the fitter operates within the legal guidelines of commerce, while the hearing aid license confirms the fitter's qualifications and knowledge pertaining specifically to hearing aid fitting and sales.

This combination is vital for maintaining professionalism and safeguarding consumer interests in health-related services. Having only a hearing aid license or any other credential, such as an audiology degree or certification, does not encompass the necessary permissions to legally operate a business in this field. Therefore, holding both licenses is the most comprehensive answer regarding the essential requirements for a hearing aid fitter.
